BIO
I have been continuously making art since I graduated from college in 1977. ( Washington St. Univ) For many years I specialized in watercolor and pencil\pastels, but now I work in mainly oil paint. I have taught art for over 38 years, in a variety of locations. I teach all levels, all ages, all subject matter and in most media! I specialize in INSPIRATION.
I have shown in various cities and venues. I have produced several large public murals. I have illustrated books, drawn cartoons for magazines and painted commissioned portraits of people and animals.
I live and work in North Scottsdale with my husband, sculptor Lyle London. I have a large studio in my home where I teach, year around. I am an avid gardener, hiker, animal lover\trainer and until recently a competitive equestrian.

Statement
I paint to celebrate the magic and beauty that I see in the world around me. I want to surprise the viewer, provoke thought and add to the mystery of our everyday world with my art. I hope to inspire and awaken in my viewers, the same spark of curiosity and awe that I see and experience.
I usually have an image, idea or story that I want to explore and convey. The viewer doesn’t have to understand my finished work, I want them to interpret it any way they want to. Once I start a painting, I know it will evolve in ways I never imagined or planned.
It’s as if the Universe or a “Muse” was working through me. The result always turns out better than my original idea. I completely trust in and enjoy this enigmatic process.
